Most of us who are Christians would love to know how to start a ministry.
My SBI sites get a half million visitors a year, and every tool I use is free.
Tertullian's ministry of word has survived 1800 years and affected untold millions
When I was younger, I dreamed of writing a book. In fact, I did write one that was accepted for publication. Before it came out, however, the publisher joined itself to a liturgical church. I no longer fit in their plans, and they didn't fit in mine.
If the book had been printed, and if it had done very well, we might have sold, at best, 25,000 copies. If all 25,000 copies were read, I'd have reached 25,000 people.
Recently, I wrote a page on John Tetzel. In 9 days, it was read 133 times. At that rate, five thousand people will read that one page in a year.
But that's nothing. Last month, my web site served 11,000 pages to over 3,000 people. That's 130,000 pages and 36,000 people a year.
However, my traffic's been growing around 30% each month. This month, I'm on pace to reach over 4,000 people, and this site's been on the web less than a year.
Do you think this might be a good way to start a ministry?
There are a lot of reasons why it's better to start a ministry with a web site than a book.
But this sort of traffic doesn't happen by accident!
I've been doing web sites for 10 years, and I've never been able to achieve even a significant fraction of this traffic. My previous web ministries reached, at best, 10% of the traffic Christian-History.org receives. And this site has only been up 8 months!
How did I do it?
I studied and studied and studied for months.
And then I found out that SiteBuildIt! had already done all the work for me.
Enough said. SiteBuildIt! is a bargain at many times the price. It produced what I described above. If you want to start a ministry that actually reaches people, I'll let them tell how it's done.
Oh, you can use SiteBuildIt! to make money, too, but how to start a ministry seemed much more important to talk about.
